Andrew J. O’Connor III
President
Andy O’Connor, President of A.J. O’Connor Associates, has led the growth of the firm’s Human Resource consulting and career transition practices, which have more than tripled in the last 5 years. Andy’s strength lies in his ability to recognize that future growth requires change. He has utilized the sound foundation, reputation and long term relationships his company has developed and expanded the firm’s service offerings to provide more solutions based consulting. A pioneer in executive coaching, Andy built the practice into a recognizable brand within the industry. Under his leadership, the firm has been recognized with such notable achievements as the Quality of Excellence Award for creativity from the Association of Career Firms International and Spherion’s Legendary Service Award.
As A.J. O’Connor Associates begins its 25th year and second generation in the Human Resources consulting business, Andy continues to provide more value to his clients. He has helped A.J. O'Connor Associates to become known for its quality programs and has become a leader in the industry.
Sixteen years experience in the consulting field has afforded Andy the opportunity to broaden the company’s client base to well over 100 firms, including AT&T, Novartis, J&J and Panasonic with whom he maintains strong relationships.
Previously, Andy served with the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office. His experience also includes positions with Continental Insurance Company and Paine Webber.
Andy is a member of the Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU) Center for Human Resources Studies, a former board member of the New Jersey Human Resource Planning Group, a member of the Society of Human Resource Management, a board member for the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, and a board member of the Association of Career Firms International. He is also past chairman of the Morris County Chamber of Commerce “Career Forum.”
Andy is a graduate of Morris County’s “Leadership Morris Program” and has held leadership roles in government as an elected councilman and public safety director in his community. He is a former member of the Executive Committee of the March of Dimes and past president of the Florham Park Jaycees. Andy holds B.S. and M.A. degrees from John Jay College in New York City.
