Director, Career Transition Services

As the Director of Career Transition Services, Marie Tanzi has been working with our transition and outplacement clients for more than 6 years. She is the central point of contact with our clients and ensures optimal client satisfaction in the delivery of major projects. She has become the force behind A.J. O’Connor Associates’ reputation for exceptional and personalized Career Transition Services.

Marie’s keen ability to establish strong relationships with individuals ensures every career transition candidate is matched with the ideal consultant. She is an astute and supportive team player with a focus on continuously improving performance. She accomplishes this by facilitating learning and effectively managing and enhancing systems, data and people.

Marie maintains high standards for quality and information management. Through her ability to build effective relationships and engender trust, Marie manages both career transition services and the consulting staff who have exceeded the expectations of thousands of candidates from a diverse client base. Marie has worked with senior teams in Telecommunications, Energy, Pharmaceutical, Consumer Products, Healthcare and Financial Services industries to plan and implement major restructurings, redeployments, transitions and outplacement strategies at all levels of the organization.

Marie brings a background of more than 20 years in Human Resources to AJO. Her vast experience in Career Transition began with operating experience in planning and executing senior level transitions as part of Executive Human Resources at AT&T. During her tenure, Marie flawlessly developed, coordinated, and executed the separation process for senior executives both domestically and internationally.

Marie has consulted with HR organizations to develop HR practices and policies, and to create tools to help integrate managers and employees of acquired businesses into corporate HR policies, processes and practices. She has been a strategic business partner to unit Presidents and Vice Presidents of major corporate entities.

Marie holds a degree from City University of New York in Business Administration and a certification in Employee Relations Law and Employment Law from the Institute for Applied Management and Law (IAML).
