NJHRPG: HR Strategic Decision Making

Mar 02 | 8:00 am to 12:00 pm
APA Hotel Woodbridge, Iselin, NJ
Presenter: Dr. Alec Levenson. This session will address how HR can approach decision making more strategically. Drawing from his recent book, Strategic Analytics: Advancing Strategy Execution and Organizational Effectiveness, Dr. Alec Levenson will present a framework HR professionals can apply to any issue confronting the function, to better identify the issues of strategic importance.
The session will show how HR can improve strategic decision making and add greater value to the business. Specific topics addressed include:
  • Identifying the right questions to ask to prioritize the work of HR, and where to get data that supports more strategic decision making
  • A three step process for taking a true "outside-in" view of HR, starting with the business strategy and competitive advantage, and moving from there to gaps in the organization design and capabilities that support competitive success, and ending with traditional HR processes and issues: talent management, employee engagement, development, rewards, recruitment, succession planning, etc.
